How is OEE treated? OEE stops hurting in one to two years and does not return. After decades of research we don’t yet have a way to make it go away faster. There are treatments that can alleviate some of the pain, including exercises, splints, ice or heat, and acetaminophen or ibuprofen-type medications. Many doctors offer injections, but there is evidence that injections are no better than simulated (placebo) injections. Surgery is uncommon and its role in treatment of OEE is debated. Because OEE is such a common, vexing problem, new treatments come and go. It’s good to be skeptical of the latest new thing. Non-operative management: Exercises; Splints; Ice or heat; Acetaminophen or ibuprofen-type medications Surgery Questions? × Help Heeft u hulp nodig bij het invullen van de keuzehulp?
