Needle release

A needle is used to cut the cord little by little.

Under local anesthesia the physician uses a needle to cut and weaken, then break the cord through the skin. Your physician typically does this at multiple places, allowing your fingers to become straighter.

Advantages
- No cuts will be made on your hand;
- Recovery is faster than after open surgery.

Disadvantages
- Only possible if you have a clearly palpable cord;
- May not get the finger as straight as after open surgery;
- The bend can return faster than after open surgery;20
- The bumps remain.
