Signs and symptoms1
You may notice pain, grinding, and stiffness, particularly in the morning. The disease develops slowly. But if the first time you notice arthritis pain is after a twist or a fall; it might feel like an injury.

Evaluation4
Knee arthritis can be diagnosed based on symptoms and examination. X-rays might be taken to exclude other problems or to help determine if surgery is an option.
